Experience Platform Connector Renamed to Data Connection
Adobe rebrands Experience Platform Connector as Data Connection with bundled commerce-data-export dependencies, improving clarity and reducing setup complexity.

November 2022 saw Adobe rebranding the Experience Platform Connector extension to Data Connection. More than a name change, the rebrand included bundling critical dependencies and streamlining the installation process.
Why the Rebrand?
The original name was ambiguous. The new name, Data Connection, clearly communicates the purpose: it connects commerce data to Adobe ecosystem. The simpler name also reflected the maturity of the extension.
Bundled Dependencies
Previously, merchants had to install Data Connection alongside the commerce-data-export module separately. With the rebrand, commerce-data-export was bundled as a dependency. Setup time dropped from 30 minutes to 5 minutes.
Simplified Installation
Merchants could now install Data Connection via Composer and the system automatically configured everything.
